Applies to: Agencies choosing a niche
Should I focus on one niche or target several niches at once?
Votel recommends starting with one niche. Pick one, go with your gut and do not second guess it or switch later: you can be successful in any niche, and changing niches means starting over and slowing yourself down. Each extra niche multiplies the upfront work, for example five niches means five websites. Move on to a second niche only once you have truly maxed out the first and cannot scale it further. Speed and taking action matter most.
If you do target several niches, make a separate website for each so the page speaks directly to that ideal client, and use separate sites for separate brands. For your own agency brand, use a page on your agency domain or a subdomain. If you serve a local area rather than a niche, the site can simply say which area you serve and that you work with everybody. An agency typically has just one Google Business Profile.
If an old domain or website has baggage, for example you no longer know the login or it is tied to something else, register a new domain and keep moving. Domains are cheap.
